If you are interested in being part of the technical crew for the show, please fill out this Google form. The technical crew is in charge of the set, props, costumes, lights, and sound.
Synopsis of Show:
Mary Shelley’s novel Frankenstein is one of the most known and retold stories in the world. Frankenstein’s Mary Shelley tells the equally compelling true story of Frankenstein’s young author alongside her original tale of horror. An unmarried, ostracized, pregnant teenage mother when she wrote her first novel, Mary Shelley faced as much death, drama, romantic and family problems during its writing as her characters do. The ways her life informed her creative choices sheds new light and offers a new point of view about this classic horror story. Moving back and forth between the layered worlds of the book and the world in which Mary Shelley was writing (and sometimes blending the two), Frankenstein’s Mary Shelley is a dark, gothic drama about an extraordinary young woman, the strange times she lived in, and all her many monsters.
Settings & Times:
Time and place move fluidly between the world of Mary Shelley and the world of Victor Frankenstein, including a variety of locations in England and Switzerland from 1797-1818.
General Information about OAP
- OAP is competitive theatre. We compete in the 8AA south subsection against Sartell, Monticello, Big Lake, and Becker.
- At the subsection competition, the top three teams will advance to sections, where the top three teams from the 8AA north subsection will also compete. At sections, the first place show advances to state. State for OAP is not a competition, it is a showcase. Winning sections is the equivalent to winning state for our activity.
- The show can have up to 20 students cast and crew and up to two adults help
- The show must be under 35 minutes
